The Shoe Bird from Brilliance Audio (coming to Playaway Feb 2008), has been nominated for a 2008 Grammy Award in the category of "Best Music Album for Children".
Adapted from a whimsical Eudora Welty story by Samuel Jones, composer in residence with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, this "musical fable" is performed by the great Jim Dale (of Harry Potter fame) with the Seattle Symphony Orchestry conducted by Gerard Schwarz, along with two great youth choruses, Northwest Boychoir and Girls of VocalPoint! Seatttle.
If you haven't heard this one yet, it is not to be missed. It's truly an instant classic -- a number of reviewers have described it as a Peter and The Wolf for a new generation.
